Fall Bucket List

The September issue of VOGUE is a BIG one with a supersonic cover story featuring the Fab Four from the 90s – Linda, Cindy, Christy, and Naomi. Of course, the supermodels still look fabulous, sporting stylish Prada, Marc Jacobs, and Valentino fashions. The article is a prelude to a new four-part documentary, The Super Models, set to debut on September 20 on Apple TV. An inside look at their lives and a trip down fashion’s memory lane is definitely on my fall bucket list. Here are a few others.

The Belted Kimono

Though a versatile staple year-round, the kimono is the perfect transition piece for fall. Dress it up. Dress it down. Opt for a shorter jacket style or a longer maxi. Either way, you’ll look stylish and classic. We’re carrying a new line of colorful, one-of-a-kind kimonos. The palettes are rich and exotic, but no two are the same. I’m getting at least two to pair with T-shirts and flared jeans.

The Leather Short

Buttery soft leather looks good, feels good, and makes one heck of a fashion statement. While I love the look of a leather jacket or skirt, early fall in the South screams shorts! They’re chic enough for date night, sassy enough for tailgating, and versatile enough to pair with a cardigan or sweatshirt. I’m opting for black and pairing them with a patterned sleeveless top and ankle boots, although cowboy boots are an option, too.

Weekend Getaway to One of the Coolest Small Towns in America

Nestled among the mountains of Blue Ridge Country and just miles from the famous Greenbrier resort, Lewisburg, WV, is a small town with an artsy vibe – perfect for a weekend getaway. The historic General Lewis Inn is a restored boutique hotel with a celebrated restaurant and cocktail lounge. I’d like to stay there and have dinner outside at The French Goat. My shopping plans include Bella the Corner Gourmet, Cat & Kate, and Brick House Antiques.

High-Style Serving Dishes

Entertaining in any season can be stylish and elegant with the right serving pieces, especially when adorned with silver or gold accents. I’m eyeing an oversized footed bowl for my fall dinner parties, perfect for serving salad or displaying fruit. A multi-sectioned chips & dip server will come in handy, too. Salerno’s high-fired pieces are versatile, plus dishwasher and oven-safe. You can’t go wrong!
